The International Women's Day Event has been held in 15 Temmuz Congress and Culture Centre of our University. Şırnak Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan with his wife Yıldız Pehlivan, Mayor Mehmet Yarka and his wife Fatma Yarka, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Tamer Bilacan, Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Erkan, representatives of various non-governmental organizations and many guests attended the event.Firstly, Şırnak Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan, Mayor Mehmet Yarka, Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Erkan and Provincial Director of Family Labor and Social Services Muzaffer Akçam made opening speeches in the event. Following the inaugural speeches, Lecturer Dr. Dicle Özcan Elçi, Director of Woman and Family Studies Research and Application Center, made her speech on "Women's Representations at Şırnak University". Assoc. Dr. Derya Yücel, faculty member of the Faculty of Agriculture, gave information about "Being a Woman in the Academy", afterwards.The event ended with the music concert performed by Assoc. Dr. Günay Tuzkaya and the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
