Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Erkan, General Secretary Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Baz, academic and administrative staff of our university attended the “ Panel of the Turkish National Anthem on its 100th Anniversary and Mehmet Akif Ersoy” organized by the Faculty of Theology. The moderator Assistant Prof.İsmet Tunç, Assoc. Dr. Bahattin Keleş and Assistant Prof. Mehmet Bağış gave information about the life of the Poet of Turkish National Anthem Mehmet Akif Ersoy and the acceptance process of Turkish National Anthem during the panel.In his opening speech, stating that Mehmet Akif Ersoy was the first Muslim veterinarian and also the first Muslim school champion in Turkey, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Erkan followed as “It is very important to read and understand Mehmet Akif. Because Akif' s views during the War of Independence are also the solution to our current problems. Akif also had problems with poetry, but we remember him gratefully in his 100th anniversary. May Allah have mercy upon him and make us understand him".
